Solar Boreholes in Cameroon: Water Powered by the Sun

ENEO power cuts, fuel for the generator: a borehole with a solar submersible pump gives you water during the day with no electricity bill.

Pacific Forage SARL (Ngousso, Yaoundé), with 15 years of cumulative experience and over 9 years in Cameroon, drills the borehole and installs the complete pumping system.

What a solar borehole includes

  • Site survey and geophysics

Choosing the most favourable location before drilling.

  • Drilling and equipment

Drilling up to 24 inches, PVC casing, screens, gravel pack and sealing.

  • Solar submersible pump

Sized to the depth, borehole yield and your needs. Indicative: head approx. 30–200 m, flow approx. 1–20 m³/h.

  • Storage

UV-resistant polyethylene tanks of 1,000–10,000 L, on a stand or steel water tower, so you have water at night too.

  • Mixed supply

ENEO or generator backup can be kept if you wish.

Pump safety

Optional safety systems (extra cost, only if needed): dry-run protection, float / level switches, control panel, surge and lightning protection, earthing.

How your project works

  1. 1

    Contact and site visit

Message us on WhatsApp with your location and we arrange the visit.

  2. 2

    Quote and deposit

You receive a clear quote; the deposit fixes the start date.

  3. 3

    Drilling

The rig arrives and drills to the agreed depth.

  4. 4

    Development, casing and handover

Casing and gravel pack, pump, tank on request, and handover of a working water point.

Good to know

Pump figures are indicative: the final choice depends on the pumping test. Nobody can guarantee water; a site survey improves the chances of success.

FAQ

Does a solar pump work at night?

The pump runs on sunlight. The tank stores water pumped during the day for use at night. ENEO or generator backup can be added.

What about cloudy days?

Flow drops when sunlight is weak. The tank and, if needed, a backup supply keep water available.

Which pump do I need?

It is chosen from the depth, water level, borehole yield measured in the pumping test and your daily needs.

Are safety systems included?

They are optional, at extra cost, and offered only if needed.
